Full review

I went skiing abroad for the first time in March 2006 at the age of 53. I would only tackle blue runs in Scotland. We were assured of good snow, which was the case but some days were misty. The facilities were second to none; in fact they were beyond comprehension. Afterski facilities were good but the nightlife was quiet. Lessons over 2 days, meant that I managed to ski a black run from the top. We'll be back every year. I drove there in July and they were building more accommodation. The ski tows were relatively uncrowded I'm told. There is active nightlife in Solden further down the valley. Obergurgl is more for the older skiier and I spotted one lady in her 80's, skiing with an instructor. The high altitude, 9,000ft does take its toll and with hotels at 6,000ft, get one with a lift. Go and enjoy.
