Kitzbühel

High-end

Harisch Hotel Weisses Rössl, Bichlstraße 5, A  6370 Kitzbühel, (+43 (0)5356 71900). This 56-room, five-star country house hotel has one of the highest ratings in the resort. The Weisses Rössl has built a global reputation for its personal service and quality and is ideally located 150m from the Hahnenkamm gondola (where you can leave your equipment slopeside in your free locker at the partner Sport Etz shop). There’s a first-class spa and gourmet dining in The Velvet restaurant within the hotel which offers a seven-course gourmet dinner.

Hotel Restaurant Spa Rosengarten, Aschauerstrasse 46, A 6365 Kirchberg in Tirol, (+43 (0)5357 4201). Chef Simon Taxacher wanted to add a luxury hotel and spa to accompany his renowned Restaurant Rosengarten in Kirchberg near Kitzbühel. Already the holder of three Gault Millau toques and two Michelin Stars, Chef Taxacher has successfully sought to make his 26-room Hotel Restaurant Spa Rosengarten a haven of elegance and wellbeing reflecting his unequivocal high standards and individuality.

Mid-level

Villa Licht, Franz-Reisch-Strasse 8, Kitzbuhel (+43 (0)5356 62293). This century-old, three-star hotel is located in a central but quiet area, within its own private gardens. The hotel’s sumptuous decor and romantic feel has led to positive reviews in publications including Cosmo, the Daily Mail and Glamour with an ‘Insider’s tip’ rating, and an average five stars (the maximum) from reviewers on Trip Advisor who consistently rate the superb service. There’s a choice of rooms and suites with breakfast provided and wellness facilities including a sauna.

Economy lodging

Muehlbergerhof, Schwarzseestraße 6, A 6370 Kitzbühel (+43 (0)5356 62835). It is one of a small selection of bed and breakfasts in the resort with an official two-star rating. Everything fits the bill for a great ski holiday here, particularly its location – just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts and cable car, the ski bus stop (if you want to head further afield), and the Aquaarena municipal sports complex and indoor pool. Breakfasts are big and the ingredients come from the farm belonging to the Muehlbergerhof’s owners.
