Pros: The Hartkaiserbahn, skiing through the trees, interconnect with other villages

Cons: Low altitude means Ellmau is not snow sure throughout the season

I was a representative for Schools Abroad/Ski Scope during the 1985-86 and 86-87 ski seasons. I lived in the Haus Christoph with the Hautz family. In addition to my rep. responsibilites I skied nearly every day. This was a dream come true. Most all clients had a blast. All the Ellmau locals made everyone feel so at home and welcome. The people and skiing in Ellmau defined gemutlichkeit and Gaudi im Schnee for me.

I was and still am an expert skier. I always found challenges and was never bored of the skiing which Ellmau has to offer. The Ski Welt offers so many possibilites. The interconnect to Scheffau is fantastic and quick via the Harkaiserbahn and other lifts.

I cannot praise Ellmau enough, it really is fantastic. I will keep going back to Ellmau!
