The Ski Cross World Championships have been postponed to 5th March and moved to Madonna Di Campiglio from the original venue, the site of the recent Alpine Ski World Championships, Are in Sweden. Although are has had a lot of snow, it was not enough to create the terrain features required when the Championships were due to be staged.

In common with much of Europe, Italy's resorts were blessed with heavy snowfall last week. Val Gardena, one of Italy's largest ski areas and part of the larger still Dolomiti Superski Pass (750 miles of runs) and on the Sella Ronda pass, reported heavy snow - much to the joy of local skiers.
