Szklarska Poręba is a touristic town situated at the foot of Karkonosze Mountains (Giant Mountains) and Izera Mountains, on 440-886 meters above the sea level, which boarders Czech Republic. This place is very popular both in the winter (offering ski and cross-country routes) and the summer (when you can use diverse walking and cycling routes). Szklarska Poręba is the biggest health resort in Lover Silesia.

The easiest way to get to Szklarska Poręba is to take national route nr 3 (E65) from Jelenia Góra situated 20 km away. From Świeradów Zdrój leads route nr 404.
Moreover, you can get to Szklarska Poręba by train and by PKS bus. By bus the easiest way to get to Szklarska is to go from the station in Jelenia Góra. There is also a bus connection Wrocław- Szklarska Poręba.
Alpine skiing in Szklarska Poręba concentrates around Ski Arena Szrenica lifts and few nearby ski routes (among others Puchatek, Hala Szrenicka, Śnieżynka). The longest rout- Lolobrygida- counts over 4400 meters.

Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find one of the best ski routes in Central Europe, with the total length over 150km. This is the place where “Run of Piasts” (Bieg Piastów) takes place- the biggest ski event in Poland.
Thanks to good climatic conditions the snow layer stays even till the middle of April.

In Szklarska Poręba skiers will find what they need: equipment rentals, ski schools, snowboard schools and bus transport to the lifts. And after snow frenzy on the slope you can eat a tasty meal in one of many restaurants and inns placed in different parts of the city.

Those who want to regenerate after skiing can go to SPA Centre or use the pool; both are the best places to relax. Moreover, in the town there are different museums and galleries.

Accommodation base in Szklarska Poręba is developed and diverse in standards and prices. There are agrotouristic farms, guests houses and also high quality hotels.
