    Zermatt offers a free day of skiing on packages through to June. Zermatt, which remains open for winter sports 365 days a year on the highest, and one of the largest, summer ski areas in Europe, is offering a free day's skiing and a night's accommodation for those booking a three day, or longer, package during the last two months of Spring.   • Summer season ski passes on sale at Engelberg

    The ski and snowboard season on the Titlis glacier at Engelberg in Switzerland is open until 27th May, then from 28th May the glacier lift and the Ice Flyer chairlift will be open for skiers depending on snow and weather conditions. Full Article

  • Grindelwald gets first six seater chair and freezes ticket prices

    Grindelwald will open its first six seater chair, will pull down wind-protection hood, in the Kleine Scheidegg sector, next winter. The new Honegg chair will serve the widened Honegg run which will also have new snowmaking. It is the resort's first six seater chair, adding to the nine quads, two gondolas, three funicular railways and cable car (tram). Full Article

    Several of Zermatt's leading hotels will reopen next winter after serious makeovers. There's also a new four-star hotel, the Matterhorn Focus, which will comprise eight suites, six junior suites and 11 double rooms. Full Article

  • Saas Fee raises free child skiing age

    Saas Fee is the latest major ski area to increase the age limit up to which children ski free. Children visiting the resort will now be able to ski free up to their tenth birthday. Previously children paid for tickets from age seven. Full Article

    Construction work has begun on a new Nationale Chairlift for Swiss resort Crans Montana. The new lift, which will be up and running for next winter, and will follow a longer route with its departure point level at the Marolires station to facilitate liaisons between the different sectors.
