There's probably legal access 2 the backcountry, but its risky and dangerous. The worst thing 2 do is go out of bounds at your average resort because it has unmarked obstacles and avalanches which r not patrolled or maintained.
The park run is sick!! the park is STACKED! The park crew is killing it, raking it every chance they get 2 give the best surface. There's a storm comin' in this weekend thats supposed to dump 2-4 FT of pow. Thats right. FT, not INCHES!
Went Saturday. My daughters' first time! They took ski lessons, which were probably the best I've seen anywhere. My oldest was a rockstar by the afternoon. One of the instructors gave me a personal tour of the mountain while the girls were at their class, and we even saw one of the owners ski by as we headed down to pick up the lift. I've skied Bear and Snow Valley in SoCal and all over Colorado and this is the coolest little mountain I've been too (only its potentially not that little). There wasn't a lot of snow, but you can tell its killer when they get it. Once they finish the snow making expansion, it will undoubtedly be the best skiing in Southern California. Baldy does indeed rock!!!!
