Val d'Allos - La Foux Overview

Region Wide Comparison

Area Profile

La Foux D'Allos is one of the most southerly French ski resorts with much of the accommodation in the slope-side purpose-built centre above the original village of La Foux. The journey between the two resorts makes a good day trip for capable skiers, as the link involves red and black pistes. There are plenty of easier fast blue and red cruisers close to the resort, but beginners would be better to base themselves in Pra Loup.

The resort is small but it does have 16 restaurants and a good selection of activities on offer including an ice driving school, ice climbing and quad biking. Most unusual is the Haute Provence Research Observatory high above the resort which is open to the general public. There's a choice of a red or a long black run back down, or you can take a scenic return trip on the gondola.
