Skied Sat, 4, 10 down all day, 6 for about an hour. Got out the full camber rock skis and had a blast. But be ready to ski hard pack - east coast w/o snow making. But any skiing is better than no skiing!!!
Pleasantly surprised at the quality of snow conditions. Limited terrain but what is open is good. Thanks Heavenly snowmaking for helping out Mother Nature. Sunshine today helps make the skiing enjoyable too.
Got some good runs in but dismal snow coverage overall. Spring conditions in the a.m. and could get very slushy in the afternoon. Much fewer runs open than expected. Had better luck on the NV side. Gorgeous day and no crowds, so it's hard to complain too much.
Considering it hasn't snowed in over 3 weeks and no snow making at Sierra except the bunny run, the conditions are pretty decent. There are probably about 10 runs that coverage and grooming make it quite nice. No black runs open that aren't covered in either rocks or ice. I commend the grooming team while we have this January lull in snow. Pray for snow folks !
Skied Kirkwood for first time today by far best snow coverage of any resorts in Tahoe. Runs were well groomed in the morning by afternoon coverage began show some dry stops by nothing to cause any major hazards. Well worth making the trip even with spring like conditions.
