Malá Fatra region is located in the northwestern part of Slovakia, on the territory of the Žilina region. The area was declared in 1988 a national park. This park is divided into Krivánska (North) and Lúčanská (South) Malá Fatra. Malá Fatra is the fourth highest mountain chain in Slovakia, and has got beautiful nature. It offers perfect conditions for hiking, but also for skiing, adrenaline sports and other winter sports. There are several ski resorts in Malá Fatra even some of the best in Slovakia - Vrátna free time zone, but worth visiting are also Valčianska dolina or Winterpark Martinky. If you are fed up with skiing you can still enjoy the beauty of nature. For example Jánošíkove diery, Veľký Kriváň, Malý or Veľký Rozsutec or Šútovský waterfall.
