This valley of extraordinary beauty became Slovakia's fourth national park in 1988. There are demanding runs and good off-piste skiing at Chleb mountain. A new gondola was installed recently.
In 1997 Omnitrade joint stock company became the operator of the ski and tourist center Vrátna resulting in spending on a new quad chairlift, ski-lifts, gondola and artificial snow making.
