mammoth's summit is 2,500' higher than all Tahoe/ Pac NW ski resorts effectively keeping the snow quality much lighter and drier. Mammoth still gets cement sometimes but more often light, dry pow. I grew up in Vail and always enjoy shredding pow at mammoth

not only does west virginia have better snow and mountains... but we have way better coal mining than mammoth!

it seems like california skiing is just a versus between skiing 60 inches of pow one day and then skiing coastal concrete another day.

awesome day at Squaw. as good an early season day I can remember. granite and Siberia have lots of soft snow and the mountain is shaping up nicely. mountain run opened today for the first time.
