Pros: massive ski range

Courchevel is divided into 3 areas, at the top 1850, middle 1650 and bottom 1550. Things are more expensive at the top and cheaper at the bottom so take your pick! We stayed in 1650 in a catered chalet with Crystal Holidays and although the food wasn't gourmet, the staff were really friendly. 1850 has a fantastic ski range and even its own landing strip! Apparently Richard Branson flies in on a regular basis. Pistes are all extremely well groomed and signposted. If you are a beginner, you'll have no problems as they are nice and wide too. If you are going on an exploration day of the 3 valleys, head to Val Thorens, the runs there are fabulous and once there they get even better.
Night life in Courchevel is pricey but if you want to hang out with the people who work there, head to Gringos Pub in 1850 or the Bubble Bar in 1650. Beer is a little more reasonable in these places and both offer a good happy hour for apres skiers.
