With my family we skied Zell am See March 12-16. We had a perfect week of sunshine even though no snow. This was a weak winter for snow in Austria but luckily we were close to the Kaprun Glacier where the snow conditions were excellent. I think half of Austria was skiing Kaprun, even mid week the lift lines were quite long but we found a system of moving around the mountain in the morning to beat the crowds and skiing through lunch when others were eating and drinking. The top of the mountain Bell View was a great facility with the best view of any dining experience we have had. I recommend a car so you can get around and not rely on the buses. The town is quite nice with very good dining whether it is traditional Austria food or just a pizza and the beer is the best! Side trip to Salzburg is a must and with a car you can hit lots of other nearby skiing resorts. We will definetly be back.
