The Hinterreit ski area at Saalfalden is a small family area with a selection of T bars and a baby lift for children and beginners. The giant area of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the most popular and one of the largest in Austria, is nearby. Hinterreit does have its own FIS training run for more advanced skiers however - attracting national teams from Austria, Germany, Norway, Britain and the Us as well as skiing greats such as Herman Maier.
