Eben im Pongau has developed into a charming alternative to the bigger tourist resorts in the Salzburger Sportwelt. Due to its central location, 50 kilometres (31 miles) south of the city of Salzburg, it's one of the easiesty ski resorts to reach, with its own motorway exit.

The resort is party of the giant Salzburg Sportwelt region which has over 100 ski lifts, gondolas and chair-lifts with 350 kms of pistes, 200 kms of cross-country trails, toboggan runs, ski and snowboard schools, floodlit pistes, mountain huts and much, much more in a radius of only 20 kms.

The Salzburg Sportwelt is also the heart of the Skiverbund Amadé, Austria's largest ski area association. Just one ski pass covers five top ski areas (Salzburg Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein Tauern, Grossarl Valley, Hochkönig's Winter Kingdom, Gastein), 276 cable-cars and an incredible 865 kms of pistes in the province of Salzburg and in Styria.
