Saas-Fee Mit Saastal: Charm And Family-Friendly, Too -
Saas-Fee is the main village in the Saastal (the Saas Valley) and is a municipality in the Valais canton in Switzerland.
What's to ski or ride? Saas-Fee has four skiable mountains. There are 22 lifts, including three cable cars, a funicular railway, five gondolas, two chairlifts, and numerous surface lifts. The vertical is 1,800 metres, and covers 100 km of terrain.

Skiable parts of the glacier include a smooth piste, a delight for intermediates. Yet there are plenty of opportunities for the truly adventurous, especially on ungroomed slopes like the demanding “White Pearl.” The four main ski areas are
Saas Almagell,
Saas Balen,
Saas Fee Saastal, and
Saas Grund.
No cars are allowed to enter the city, just as in nearby Zermatt (they have to be parked in special car parks outside); only small electric vehicles operate on the streets. Buses run during much of the day on the half-hour from Brig and Visp.
The resort features the highest underground funicular railway and the highest revolving restaurant in the world at 3,500 m.

The village itself is a blend of modern hotels and centuries-old, weathered farm buildings. Allalin Ice Pavilion is the world's highest and biggest ice pavilion. You'll find more economical prices in Saas Fee and neighboring villages of Saas Grund and Saas Almagell than in Zermatt.
Saas-Fee is about four hours from the Geneva gateway airport.
