It's the first day of spring and we are on our way to Tremblant. Wow! Sunday morning we rise to snow showers. They have had a couple of inches overnight. We are staying at the Marriott and they have a great breakfast buffet. Scrambled eggs, ham, fried potatoes, make your own waffle, hot and cold ceral, lots of fruit and yogurt. Breakfast is great and we take advantage of first tracks. If you stay on one of the mountain properties you get first tracks free. Gret deal and very important for spring skiing. The best conditions are early in the morning. Great skiing then we go to lunch. Rather expensive anywhere on the mountain, but if you brought some fruit, yogurt and ham from the breakfast bar, you can cut down on what you have to buy. Even a small lunch will set you back at least $12. Ski a few runs after lunch and around 3 it is time to quit. It is getting soft. Repeat four times and you have a wonderful first few days of spring.
I know people complainabout icy conditions, but if you grew up skiing in Michigan, the sound ice make on your edges just reassures you , that you have a good edge. Not very much ice this week .They took great care of the trails, grooming almost every run every night.
