Taking February for ski time is pretty good as traditions go. We had moved from Brussels to New Jersey and decided on Quebec for our yearly ski hegira. Quebec City is lovely, gastronomy on a par with Europe, temperatures in dead of winter are WAY cold. Mt. Ste Anne is a relaxed medium size area without maddening crowds. Runs well groomed, employees friendly, courteous and helpful. Two things were different than I'm used to; 1) altitude from 100' to 1500' seemed low but in that kind of cold the snow is good, 2) nothing similar to Gunbarrell (Jeavenly), KT22/Chute 75 (Squaw), or Corbetts Couloir (Jackson Hole), the kind of steeps you curl your toes up and sail on. Food service on mountain was very cafeteria in style and quality. I enjoyed it and would ski there again if in area.
