I have been visiting the resort since 2000 and has seen the transformation from a small local hill to an international destination. For the first time this year, we have noticed that operations have been scaled back by closing the base restaurant and bar and a lift on the far left. This is probably due to the fact that it expanded too fast and lost money in the process. Plus they seem to have trouble with the union, whom its neon stickers were omnipresent throughout the resort in such excess that it borderline vandalism.
Despite the growing pains Le Massif is experiencing, the long runs, the views and the amazing backcountry will keep drawing me back.
