In eastern Canada this is my favourite place to ski. Even on weekends the lineups are minimal unlike at Mont Ste-Anne or Tremblant where you spend all day in line. Starting out at the top of the mountain before they open the gates is awesome especially with fresh powder on the ground. On a good clear day you can see very far and the view is spectacular. I dont speak french but I had no problem conversing with locals or people who worked at the facilities.

i stayed in the town of Baie St Paul which has the basics for your stay and is only 15 minutes away from the top of the hill. It has some art shops and boutiques if you want to do some of that sort of thing.

You can start at the top or bottom of this resort but be aware that the last run time depends on where you start.
