Sauze is famous for its apres ski and, unfortunately used to be known as the 'Benidorm of the Alps'. This was due to the a large numbers of drunken youths that would occasionally cause bar brawls. The resort has really cleaned up its act over the last 5 or 6 years and is now considered one of the best in the Italian Alps. The ski runs are fantastic and the pistes hold their snow really well. There are loads of tree lined runs which remind you more of skiing in Austria or Switzerland. When stopping for lunch, most of the mountain restaurants have traditional wood burning pizza ovens and the prices are not bad at all. If you are missing your English fried breakfast, there is a huge selection of bars in town that offer eggs and bacon with a bloody Mary to clear the head.
At the end of the day you really are spoiled for choice for apres ski bars. My favourite being the Cotton Club, the owners and staff are extremely friendly and can offer tons of local information and tips for hidden runs! The Shuss nightclub is the better of the two if you fancy a dance and again has relatively reasonable prices for drinks.
If you fancy a quieter night then head to the old town (you won't believe you are the same resort). The restaurants here are fantastic - a little more pricey but well worth it. Ristorante Del Falco is by far the best in my opinion, try any of the fresh pasta dishes and you wont be disappointed.
