  Great for beginners, only an hour from DC

  Pros: great place to learn, empty on the weekdays
  Cons: plenty of ice, crowded on the weekends

  Great for 1st Time Skiers/boarders

  Pros: great lessons, nice slopes,
  Cons: prices, crowds, man made snow

  Best day trip from D.C.

  Pros: No crowds on weekdays, best within 2 hours of D.C.
  Cons: Slow chairlifts, not much variety
