Staff will laugh in your face here. Their ice rink is literally melting while people are skating on it and they just cone it off more by the minute. The staff really doesn’t ensure safety on the ice rink, saw quite a few people going in which ever direction they wanted. When I asked why no zamboni, 3 male staff laughed at me on the ice and told me I can leave. I paid over $100 for the lousy experience just to have staff tell me I can leave. Honestly go anywhere else

I am a beginner skier. 60 yrs old female. I took a group lesson and found the instructors excellent and friendly. All of the staff are very pleasant. They do seem to be short staffed, however they all manage to be helpful and remain cheerful. The prices compared to other resorts in the area are very reasonable. I find the slopes are just enough to challenge a beginner and will make you a competent intermediate in no time. If you like young children, as I do, you will be skiing among many as Spring Mountain is a short drive for many parents and is safe and fun for them.
Great place to learn

We wanted to go somewhere local and recently heard of this place over Christmas week. It was reasonably priced, however, very disappointed in the false advertising of stating they have 7-9 trails on their website. They had ONLY ONE trail open which was overly crowded and due to Covid restrictions,I believe they didn't turn anyone away.I know this is a small and local place, but I've never been to a ski resort with only one working trail. The ONE lift was over 30 minutes wait and they were using every other chair which took double the time (not because of Covid, but informed because of the lift motor). I would have enjoyed this day more if more trails were open for the amount of money paid for tickets and rentals. We wouldn't return however, if we get discounted tickets for our next trip with more trails open, I would reconsider.
convenient, local
ONE trail open when website says SEVEN-NINE trails open

We took our three young grandsons, and after the first lesson, our eight year was skiing on the beginner slopes.

I have worked at Spring Moutain for 4 years now and have had great experiences with all the guests. While some get frustrated at basic procedures a majority of families find our slopes to be the best to learn at. I love teaching there and hope that families continue to visit and enjoy a greeting learning moutain.
Great for Learning

I’ve taken my daughter here for the last two years, she’s taken 5 private lessons with Walt loves to ski. Anyone who wants to teach their kids to ski, get them lessons, as a teacher who is not related to you is invaluable. We now have a blast and she is so excited.
Great place to learn
Limited if you are advance skier or boarder.
This is a beginner's hill. I've been bringing my kids here since they were 2 years old. They have a nice learning area with a very short magic carpet lift. We only spent a short time there before heading up the chairlift, which is also really kid friendly (low to the ground and easy to board). My kids have taken a few private lessons and we've had a great experience with the instructors. The Sunday night special is the best - makes it affordable to bring the kids out more often.
Close to Philly, good instructors

Just had a terrible experience with my nine year old. Now I wish I would’ve read the previous reviews. They only have two lanes and it’s very disorganized. In 45 minutes we only got to go once. The tubing is very dangerous for small kids. You can only go head first and it’s very icy and not smooth at all. My child came off the tube and scraped her knees and was crying by the time she got to the bottom. When I went to talk to the manager about changing the tickets to skiing she rudely announced they don’t give refunds and tough luck. She proudly accepted the fact that if it’s crowded you may only go a couple of times for your 29$. Poor customer service. Won’t be back.
Friendly staff in the skii lifts
Everything else. Rude management. Low quality slopes. Unsafe dangerous tubing

If short travel time and value are important (and you’re a beginner) this is a good choice. I was very impressed with how they handled an honest mistake. My son was set to have an advanced beginner group lesson - but they grouped him with people who have never skied. He’s a patient 7 year old, but commented that the lesson was boring and made him few like a baby. I shared this with the folks at the front desk in a kind manner and waited to see how they’d handle it. They didn’t disappoint. They asked if I’d prefer a refund or an appropriate lesson. I asked for the latter. They looked for an instructor who could take my son for an hour but with such short notice couldn’t locate one. Someone who appeared to be a more senior member of the staff said, I’ll take him for an hour. And he did ... a one on one private lesson. Afterwards my son beamed how he was now excellent at turning and how he wanted to stay until they closed. Well done Spring Mountain! In fairness, anyone above an advanced beginner skill level will be bored at this mountain - but I certainly appreciated them going the extra mile for my family.
Closest resort to many areas including Philly metro and south. Relatively Low cost
Anyone above advanced beginner will be bored
