Thats actually quite interesting. I worked for C-Tec installing lifts in Ut for 10 years twenty years ago. Installing the lifts was the easy part. The only thing we couldn't do ourselves was splicing the haul rope. Maybe a week or two wait for that. After skiing the Wasatch for 16 years I can actually find a good time here at Montage! Hopefully they run long haul more often this winter.

there are three companies, two offering high speed lifts, in the us. doppelmayr usa and leitner-poma. the waiting list most certainly is not 3 years. you do need to have the surveying done and the lift ordered by mid winter as it takes a full summer to tear one down and build a new one.
greek peaks lift came down late may and its replacement won't open until dec 21. that lift had an order, but was delayed due to the bankruptcy. the go ahead wasn't given until AFTER the bankruptcy sale and the new owners found out about the dead drive and had to come up with $2.2 million for a fixed grip replacement. a new high speed quad is around $5 million.

Let's call it what it is, a local mountain that provides the best overall service it can with the resources it has its mountain GM keep that place going last year with absolutely no resources and does a great job for what he has done. As far as the chairs even if they did decide to do it their are only a handful of companies in the world that are reputable most in Germany that are waiting list to get the work done by them . typically 3 years

Lets call it what it is not what we want or wish it could be. I'd drive the hour to ride powder but not frozen granular. Again I'm not complaining just want to keep it real for those who count on first hand reports.
