Stayed at one of the Inn off 81 the night before MLK day - was going to try tubing or night skiing but wind gust/chill was just too much.
Monday was a cold/sunny day but no wind at all. Plenty of parking. Shuttle to/from lodge was efficient & drivers courteous. There is a temporary stairs leading to/from parking lot & lodge if one wants to walk. Ticket person was pleasant as well;lift ticket was cheaper than most PA ski area. No trail maps tho.
There is only one big lodge but there was no crowd - maybe the cold scared most folks away. Runs are not particularly long especialy if one does not go all the way down the lower half of the mountain. Lifts seems a bit slow but there was no lift lines at all. There are variety of trails open, from easy to faily steep. Snow guns where blowing but mostly on the bottom half of the mountain(intermediate/expert trails) which imho is really not an issue unless one stops often.Food at the lodge is same as elsewhere- okay/expensive. Mountain seems smaller than ELK but experience was same - pleasant. Lodging, restaurants, shops are just at the bottom of the mountain - very convinient.
Would we go back again? - Sure!
