Weekday no lines, great grooming
Bare spots, a few rocks on slopes
Looking at the weather forecast, and knowing that Ski Liberty and Whitetail had just closed for the season, it looked as if Monday, March 5th would be the coldest day of the week so I took off of work and headed up to Ski Roundtop for the day. What a fantastic choice. I don't think they had made snow the night before, but they did a great job grooming what they had. Trails were completely covered from side-to-side. Closer to lunchtime, there were some brown patches--mostly farther down the trails near the base. But, nothing that couldn't be avoided. I also saw more debris on the slopes than I remember previously. I stopped three times to toss rocks and large sticks off of the trail. I suppose that's what happens when you groom all the way to the edge of the trails. Kudos to Roundtop for giving me a great late season day.
