    Winter Solstice

    Celebrate the new winter season at Winter Solstice. On Saturday, kids' crafts, balloon art and face painting will be available in the Alpine Room from 1pm to 4pm. The first Saturday Night Sessions Rail Jam will kick-off the terrain park competition season on Saturday night with registration beginning at 5pm and the competition beginning at 7pm. The first-ever Ultimate Tailgate Party will be held on Sunday from 11am to 1pm. There will be special tailgate treats available for guests in the Alpine Market and Alpine Room. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL team gear and to enjoy the games on the big screens around the resort.   Jessica Fike, jfike@skiliberty.com

    Learn To Ski and Snowboard Day

    January is Learn A Snow Sport Month so we invite you to learn to ski or snowboard at Liberty Mountain! If you've never tried skiing or snowboarding, we invite you to take a lesson with our Ski & Snowboard School on January 7th.     Winter Trails

    Liberty Mountain is one of 100+ venues to participate in Winter Trails Day 2010. Winter Trails Day is one of the largest ‘Introduction to Snowsports’ programs in the country. Guests will complete five stations educating them on winter fitness, including the opportunity to demo snowshoes on a designated track. Participants will be awarded a certificate from the Winter Trails Organization and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.     Safety Awareness Week

    National Safety Awareness Week is an annual event highlighting resort safety education efforts while increasing slope safety. Resorts are encouraged to develop new and creative ways to involve employees and guests in activities for safety week. Liberty's activities will include: a Chill Station at the top of the mountain for skiers and boarders to interact with Mtn Safety and Ski Patrol and earn extra lift time, opportunity to learn more about slope safety at Safety booth, and more!   Jessica Fike, jfike@skiliberty.com

    5ht Annual Ryan Lichtenberg Memorial Rail Jam

    Skiers and boarders - honor the memory of Ryan Lichtenberg by competing in this very important and popular terrain park event. A new park feature honoring the memory of Ryan Lichtenberg will debut! In an effort to promote helmet awareness and safety, guests and competitors can enter the Ryan Memorial Helmet Raffle to win a free helmet of their choice from the Liberty Mountain Sport Shop! $20 entry fee for each participant includes a Ryan Sticker, Ryan Rail Jam bandana and lunch.     Operation Thank You and Guns & Hoses Race

    Liberty Mountain will be holding our Operation Thank You on Wednesday, February 3, 2010! All active duty Military, paid & volunteer EMS, Firefighters and Law Enforcement with current, valid active duty ID will receive special discounts on day lift tickets, tubing tickets or Learn to Ski and Snowboard Packages. Please present your ID at the ticket windows to receive your tickets! Sorry, family members are not eligible for complimentarty tickets. Coors Guns & Hoses Race New for this season: race sponsored by Coors! A 'not-to-miss' feature of Operation Thank You is the Coors Guns & Hoses Race! Law Enforcement, Firefighters and Military vie for bragging rights and prizes in this fun obstacle course race. A printable registration form will be available during the season. If you can't make Liberty's day, Roundtop & Whitetail also have their own Operation Thank You Days!     Liberty Mountain wants to celebrate this year's Winter Olympics. For over two weeks, the USA and other country favorites will be participating in winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, just as we do here for over three months in the winter. We'll be planning a list of events and activities to help support and honor the athletes, sports and countries involved in the Olympics.     Wounded Warrior Project

    Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports (BRASS) is hosting a ‘Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project Snow Sports Weekend’ at Liberty on February 26-28, 2010. BRASS will host up to ten severely wounded service members, Wounded Warriors, from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict and the Global War on Terrorism. The military personnel are currently patients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and will spend the weekend at Liberty learning to ski and snowboard.   Leslie White, lwhite@skiliberty.com

    Springfest

    Join us as we welcome spring! Resort departments will show their Springfest enthusiasm by decorating for this year's theme - TBA sometime in February. The whole weekend will be packed with lots of decorations, exciting events, and of course, plenty of skiing, boarding and tubing.
