the shut down based on number of days was 2 years ago. they gaurantee their pass holders they will be open for 80(?) days and the pass holders get partial refund if they dont. elk has never been into spring skiing. there just isnt the market. people go do siccer/golf/gardening as soon as jt fets warm even though thats when ski areas have the best/deepest snow. and with their mountain, elk has to run a minimum of 3 lifts makong it expensive.

Agreed. I think Elk is one of if not the best Mtn. in Pa, but closing so early really knocks them down a few notches. Last year they had a real nice base right into April then shut down when they hit a certain number of days open. Why? By that time of year they should be open for the people not their wallets.

I won't ever buy a pass there when they close so early.
