Snow Conditions, Vertical Drop, Variety of trails, short lift lines
Lifts are slow

Full review

Elk Mountain lives up to a lot of the hype of their advertisements. The snow really is great, and so is the variety of trails. A 1000 foot vertical drop is always good for a PA resort, so that makes Elk's trails longer than most other Poconos resorts. The lifts are a little bit slow, which on a cold day is not fun, but the length of the trails, and the lack of lines makes up for that. I have been to Elk a fair amount of times in my life, as it is always the "Go-to" place when we are up at our vacation house. It is a little far for a day trip from most major cities, but may even be worth it to some people to take the extra drive.
