Great skiing, great trails, excellent maintanence for lifts
slow lifts, outdated lodge
We (family of 5 with 3 kids 5 to 11yrs old) had another wonderful skiing trip to Elk. It is a skiers mountain with proper etiquette, polite and professional staff and long fun trails. My beginner wife and 5 year old could ski the greens comfortably but with challenge. My 8 yr old skier skied all the flat runs, including the steep blacks and there is still room for further challenge with the steep mogul runs. My 11 yr old rider, still beginning, was able to continue to master his skills without having to address the crazy teens at Camelback and Blue.
Each time we ski here we are happy, newly challenged, but comfortable. The view from the top is scenic.
it is true that the lodge is old, poorly laid out and limited in space. But the food is edible and very reasonably priced. The lifts are old and slow, but it is more time for me to play rock paper scissors with my 5 yr old.
We are looking forward to our next trips to the best mountain in Eastern PA
