Blue Mountain is a no-frills resort that has good terrain, great snowmaking, and decent prices, and the highest vertical in the Poconos. They usually make a lot of snow early in the season and are able to keep the entire mountain open most of the time. The quality of the snow is great (for the Poconos). There are usually crowds on the weekends, but the new 6-person high speed lift should help a lot. The terrain park on sidewinder is long and has some great features. The two double black diamonds are probably the steepest and longest in the region, and are never crowded. The lodge and the other facilities are horrible, but hey - if you're serious about skiing/riding who cares?
