I was lucky enough to get out of work early to head up to Blue for opening day. Smiles all around, people were pumped for the new season. The recent cold streak has allowed the mountain to put down some quality snow. The conditions were great, cant wait for the rest of the mountain to open. And aside from the resorts out west, Blue is the only place I will ski in the northeast. It's a hike to other mountains up north, and although they are bigger, I'd rather spend my money out west if I am going to plan a trip. Blue has great terrain, the park is really challenging, the blacks are legit, and the intermediate runs are long and everything you could ask for as far as cruising is concerned. I highly recommend it, I've been to the other mountains in the poconos, and Blue is simply the best experience out this way. But whereever you go, hit the slopes hard, and..... pray for snow.
