A Sunday with no football game on + great conditions = long lift lines! My parents had a house near Blue for 14 years, since they sold it several years ago we've skiied Loon, NM, Mt. Tremblant, Quebec, Killington, Mt. Snow, Gore, NY and Jiminy Pk, MA. so we have a lot of resorts to compare it to.
We returned to Blue yesterday and were happy to see the new outside firepit grill area and complimentary ski check - very nice! The conditions were wonderful. However, we got maybe 6 runs in from 10am-4pm with one short break. With the new machines auto. scanning lift pass cards, there was no personnel assigned to keep the lines in order. It was total chaos and I'm surprised there weren't any fights that broke out with all the line cutting going on. They had people assigned on the green trails to blow whistles people skiing too fast, they should have been assigned to organize and keep the long lift lines under control.
We always felt Blue was far above Camelback or Shawnee but from talking with others on the enormous lift lines yesterday, may chose another mountain when doing our next day trip.
