I had my first trip to Blue Knob over presidents day weekend (Feb 15-17, 2008). There was powder snow covering most of the slopes, but there were a few icy patches on some of the trail bends and especially on the black diamonds. They did a good job grooming most of the trails but by the end of the day the icy patches were exposed and made skiing more difficult. They got 10 inches of snow the day before we arrived but even with it, there were still icy patches and a few bare spots on the black diamonds. All green and blue trails were pretty good for the most part.
The lodge is pretty dated and the lifts run a little slow but there was hardly ever a wait, and if there was, it was never more then a minute or two. I have skied at other places and for an east coast resort, it was pretty good. I would definitely recommend the resort!
