Blue Knob is the resort that out-of-staters too often miss. Particularly if you live in Ohio and are a serious skier, I'd strongly recommend that you skip Seven Springs and drive the extra distance to Blue Knob. You'll avoid the crowds, chaos and expense of Seven Springs while enjoying the superior terrain that Blue Knob has to offer. If you are interested in making a weekend ski trip, you'll find that lodging at Blue Knob is also far more affordable than the lodging at Springs, yet has many of the same amenities. However, be advised that the night life at the Knob is nowhere near as lively as it is at Springs --- so come prepared mainly to ski, and bring a handful of friends if you really want to make the most of your time there.
