Ski Big Bear is great for families, I have 3 children, 13,10,&5. All of us have a great time. Big bear has a "magic carpet" for the practice run, which is so much easier than tow ropes and chair lifts, Two years ago my 3 yr old could do it by himself. Not crowded, I feel safe with my older children "hanging" by themselves and skiing by themselves. Attentive staff at the lifts. Great new lodge with great food. Great ski instructors. We come back every year!
