Pros: great family resort, safe for kids

We have been visiting Alpine for almost 30 years. It is a great place for anyone to learn to ski, with very short lines and very careful lift operators. They will always slow down and assist a novice skiier onto and off of the lift, unlike other area resorts, with their chair lifts that zoom by at a moment's notice! The instructors emphasize safe skiing, and the resort is small enough that I feel comfortable with my 9 year old skiing by herself. We usually stay at a nearby resort, but make the 15 min. trip daily to Alpine to avoid the long lines and huge crowds. I love this place! They offer a reduced rate for "older" skiers, and it is a safe place for anyone who hasn't skied in a while to review their skills. It is also a great place to learn a new skill like snowboarding.
The only down side is the restroom. The one downstairs is usually overflowed and stinks and the upstairs one is very old, with sluggish plumbing! Othewise, this place is a gem!
