Paznaun: Skiing And Riding The Silvretta -
The Paznaun is a Tyrolian valley in Austria. The main villages offering plenty of skiing and riding in the Paznaun are See (1,050m), Kappl (1,226m), Ischgl (1,377m) and Galtür (1,586m).
Ischgl is the most famous and popular for winter sports. Ischgl, with easy ski access to duty-free Samnaun, Switzerland, is in the heart of the Silvretta-Samnaun Gruppe. It's a small village with 1,200 residents.
Skiers and boarders will truly get their money’s worth in Ischgl. The Silvretta Arena boasts a huge arena of slopes, countless ski huts, up-to-date lifts, and guaranteed snow. There's more with cross-country skiing, ice-skating, tobogganing, winter hikes, horse-drawn sleigh rides, guided mountain tours, and indoor sports options.
The skiing is a combination of action in Austria and Switzerland and you access both sides by lifts, including an eight-seater. There are 42 lifts total, including three trams, two gondolas, 231 chairs, and 16 t-bars. There's also 48 km of cross-country tracks. The longest run is 12 km.
Ischgl's nightlife is worthy of a city. There's fashion, design, style, modern art, and a vibrant club scene. Galtür is an extremely family-friendly ski area and very reliable in terms of snow cover. Silvapark offers excellent conditions for skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing.

Kappl, also quite family-friendly, covers 40 km of pistes and nine lifts that will take you up to 2,960 metres for a magnificent view of the Tyrol. Purchasing the Silvretta ski pass includes skiing at Galtür, Kappl, Ischgl, See, and Samnaun.
The See skiing area in Tyrol has more than 33 kilometres of pistes and eight lift and cable car facilities. This charming ski idyll is especially suitable for families.
See reaches a height of 2,450 metres. A modern six-seater cable car, operated by Bergbahnen See (cable cars of See), brings you to the middle of the skiing area direct from the village centre. The pistes and facilities there offer super conditions for skiing and snowboarding. There are 33 km of pistes covering all levels of difficulty. There is a separate fun park for snowboarders and free skiers.
There are as many as 10,000 beds in pensions, private houses, and apartments in Ischgl, so the choices work for all budgets and styles. Gateway airport is Munich. You can take the train to Landeck and then a taxi or bus to Ischgl, less than an hour away. The drive by car, bus, or taxi from Munich is 2.5 hours. A local bus connects all the ski slopes.
