Willamette Pass is a nice local ski area. It's very close to Eugene and the Willamette Valley and the rates are reasonable. It has a decent vertical drop of 1500' which can give you some long runs if you're going from the summit to the base. The front side of the mountain has some nice groomers and easy runs, but also some extremely sick steep runs. They are probably some of the steepest in Oregon. The back side usually has good snow and great tree skiing. Lift lines are pretty short, even on weekends. They get a pretty good amount of snow, although it's less than Hoodoo or Bachelor. Since the front side faces south the snow can get pretty soft if it's sunny.
There is a great vibe at the Pass. Most people seem like they're out to have a good time rather than spend money and show off. The company often has coupons or good deals available if you look around. Also, if you're interested in cross-country skiing or snowshowing, there are some beautiful trails in the adjacent Willamette National Forest. If you live in Oregon I would definitely check Willamette Pass out.
