Willamette Pass is conveniently located and has a reasonable amount of terrain. Most of the trails on the back side are pretty lame but a few of them are great. Mid mountain on the front side is nice if you are a beginner, though the bottom of Duck Soup has a big flat spot that I see a lot of new people get frustrated with. The lifts aren't as nice as those at Mt Hood, but they are better than Hoodoo. The service in the lodge is horrible: long lines for tickets and overpriced (crappy!) food. Definitely pack a lunch or plan on missing the lunch rush unless you want to spend an hour (seriously) in line for a dry $8 cheeseburger.
