After 800+ inches last year, Timberline was open well into summer. On August 9th, after a day of golf, I headed up to the peak and got in some great summer snowboarding.
Yes, the runs weren't perfect, their black diamonds are more like a wide and easy blue, but its the middle of August and I'm cruising down a mountain. I don't care what it is, where it is, or how easy it is. I'll cruise all day listening to the snow under my board and the wind howl in my helmet.
Great place to visit to get away from the California sunshine and continue the Endless Winter. I'd love to be back on a great pow day, but still love Mt. Hood Meadows. The lodge alone is worth a trip up to see the amazing craftsmanship.
