We had out trip planned to Hood but they'd gotten a ton of rain and the mountain was closed or possibly open at best. We switched to Bachelor at the last minute and drove down to Bend. Woke up in the morning to 8" of fresh and rode all week with perfect and continuous snow. We took the scary small lift to the summit and hiked up to the top bowl and it was well worth it. Super steep and an absolute riot. Bachelor has nice long flats, great trees to ride, and from the top it's steep and fast.
The people at the resort were phenomenal, a bit crowded on Saturday bu very bearable. The town of Bend, while a bit of a drive to the resort, was a blast. Great pizza shack with great brewing on tap and there's one spot of nightlife that can remain nameless that we personally found enjoyable.
In twelve years of trips west to all different places, Bachelor is one of the places I'd love to go back to.
