If you are just looking for a quick "go or no go" Mt Bachelor is a "go".

It is certainly not CO weather but the snow is much better here than my home terrain of the great PacNW. It can get very windy and visibility is an issue however the lack of people and amount of options far outweigh the inclement weather conditions.

Beer drinkers? A "must go", Bend is home to a number of different breweries and it is obviously apparent that the entire community caters to the beer connoisseur. Keeping that in mind the reasonably priced, very nice hotels are a mere 25 min drive to the resort (AKA close down the bar, and only miss an hour of lift times).

However reality is that the weather isn't quite as cooperative as CO but a very nice hotel costs about $120 a night in Bend vs $350 for the same accommodation in CO. I suggest staying in the Mill District, enjoying a plethora of micros, and rolling the dice on the weather (worst case scenario you can enjoy great beer).

Also, I recommend The Victorian Cafe near Drake Park for the best breakfast ever although the lines are not as pleasant (but well worth it) as Mt Bachelor.
