Orava is most northern region of Slovakia. In this region are mountains called the Western Tatras, also called Roháče. Orava is also one of the most attractive Slovak regions. Tourists can visit the beautiful Orava Castle, Orava dam with Slanice art island, thermal spa in Oravice, open-air museum of Zuberec, enjoy folk architecture in Istebné or beautiful natural scenery of Western Tatras. Worth visiting are the Roháčske lakes or Babia mountain. West Tatras and Orava provide excellent conditions for skiing and other winter sports. Here you can find several ski resorts, such as Oravská Lesná, Hruštín or Oravský Podzámok.
