Geez people...it's Ohio. What do you expect? I went to Mad River on Jan 25th and would have to say they had really good snow conditions. It's a great place to learn. Gradual green runs for the beginner and for kids. Somewhat challenging, though short, black diamonds. I went to Whistler at the beginning of the season. The black runs here are easier than the green runs out West. It's only 45 minutes from the house, so it's a good place to work on skills. I learned to ride switch, do butters and started on the terrain park at Mad River. It's cheaper after work. The pizza and cheesy bread at the bar are pretty good. True, out West is better. Even out East is better. But if you can go after work and ride, then have a beer, watch some ESPN, then ride some more....that's pretty cool.
