great terrain park, good variety of runs, best resort in ohio
its still ohio so only 300 vert. ft.
I have been skiing at Mad River Mountain for 8 seasons now and can honestly say that Capital Park is the best terrain park in the midwest in my opinion having skied at many midwest resorts. Growing up in Columbus, MRM and snowtrails are the only two nearby resorts. Mad River is far superior to Snowtrails both in terms of quality of runs and lifts. Mad river has a quad that allows access to most of its runs including the terrain park and Sugarbush jumpline. Capital Park features a wide variety of jumps and rails that vary in difficulty that allows riders and skiers to progress quickly. There is even a beginner park on the other side of the resort. Mad River is a great place for families as well. The beginner and intermediate runs are far better than at Snowtrails. The instructors at Mad River are also very helpful. I basically grew up skiing at Mad River during the winters and remember how much fun it was to spend a day with the family at Mad River. Overall, I highly recommend skiing at Mad River if you're stuck in Ohio.
