Peak Resorts, the Missouri-based company that operates six Heartland ski areas – two in Missouri, Snow Creek and Hidden Valley, Paoli Peaks in Indiana and three in Ohio, Mad River Mountain, Brandywine and Boston Mills – had often been referred to as the American Ski Company of the Midwest. Slowly they've been moving east acquiring a couple of ski areas in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, and now word comes that Peak is buying American Ski Company resorts Mount Snow in New Hampshire and Attitash in Vermont.
