You can usually go skiing in Oberstdorf from the middle of December until the beginning of May thanks to the favourable altitude in the Allgäu Alps and modern snowmaking equipment. Nearly endless slopes are available in the diverse ski areas such as Nebelhorn or Söllereck Höllwies.

The competition ready fun park at the Fellhorn and the fun park Crystal Ground at the Kanzelwand are suitable for snowboarders and the latter is well-suited for beginners hence the separate area with easy obstacles. There is also a spacious net of cross-country ski runs. An ice stadium and ski jumps complete the offers of the resorts.

Therefore Oberstdorf is one of the number one addresses in Germany to spend the winter vacation – taking the number of annual visitors; Oberstorf is a real tourist magnet. But you can still find some peace and quite in Germany’s southernmost municipality – 75 % of the area is designated as site preservation.
