Rode yesterday, Monday. Only 6 & 4 open in the morning. They shut these down from 1030-1145. reopened 6&4. Opened 7 at 1230. 1 at 230. Never opened the other lifts. Bluebird day. I never experienced this "wind" they claimed as a reason for the lift closures. Good, mostly tracked out powder in the afternoon. Not great, but good. A little heavy and seemed more like 2ft of fresh than the 42inches claimed. A good day but only because of the conditions. The mountian operations don't make me happy. Hard to justify paying full price for a ticket when only the two lower mountain lifts were running for the better part of the day.
Another 8" of snow but heavy. Miss the Colorado/Utah powder. Not sure what to think about this place. Lifts are as slow as molasses in February and runs are short. Don't think they want boarders here either. Ever heard of benches?
Sunday produced some great skiing in the trees on the back of about 4" that fell overnight. The resort was still struggling to get their chairs running after the rain on Sunday night. Bear was running at half capacity and Kuma not at all which created a wait to get to the backside. I am glad to report, however, that Polar Express was back up and running after not running at all on Saturday. Today certainly made up for the frustrations of Saturday. Only that would have made it better would have been if they had managed to open Grizzly like the patrol was promising.
