Anywhere that people have been in the last few days is now dust on crust, with the exception of the groomed runs and the Palisades Bowl, both of which are heavenly. Worth the trip - we had the whole mountain to ourselves.
4/12: snow great in the afternoon, no crowds at all. Ridge run in CA was best, rode like buttercream frosting. Many chairs not running due to tapering operations for spring. Snow was very soft and not sticky on runs, firmer in trees but not really icy. Lots of fun.
Alpine meadows might be better for spring skiing than squaw...with zero crowds and plentiful grooming, you are basically skiing soft corduroy all day. Yesterday I was still skiing untracked cord at closing time, despite the very warm temps.
